Step 1: Add or update a contact from 1,000+ apps via Zapier
Go to Zapier and sign up for a free account, or login if you already have an account. Then, you need to create your first Zap. This is a way to let two or more apps "talk", and thus integrate. In this Zap we want to add and/or update a contact in Ratecard, so it can receive real-time and personalised feedback requests per email & SMS:
- Create a new Zap
- Choose an app you'd like to capture your contacts from, e.g. MailChimp
- Select your trigger, e.g. "New Subscriber" that triggers when a new subscriber is added to a list in MailChimp, and click "Save + Continue"
- Connect your account, and click "Save + Continue"
- Set up more details for and finish your trigger
- Test your trigger and make sure it works, e.g. by pulling in (a) sample(s) - in this case this will be (a) subscriber(s) from the MailChimp list you've selected
- Click on "+ Add a step" to add another step, and select "Action/Search"
- Choose Ratecard from the list
- Select "Add or Update Contact in Ratecard" as your action, and click "Save + Continue"
- Connect your Ratecard account with Zapier, select it, and click "Save + Continue"
- Begin setting up your template by first selecting the group you'd like to add your contacts in within Ratecard. You can connect this group to an event-based campaign in order to collect feedback on autopilot
- Go on with setting up your template by selecting which fields you'd like to use for the first name, last name, email address, and phone of your new contacts within Ratecard. Make sure you at least have a first name, and last name. Also, each contact needs to have an email address or phone number in order to send a feedback request
- Finish your template by adding smart fields in JSON format. Make sure you've added these smart fields to the Ratecard group you've selected earlier. You can check out in detail how to add a contacts with smart fields via Zapier or copy and paste the code below to make a head start:
{
"jobtitle": "INSERT FIELD HERE",
"jobid": "INSERT FIELD HERE",
"company": "INSERT FIELD HERE",
"source": "INSERT FIELD HERE",
"startdate": "INSERT FIELD HERE",
"enddate": "INSERT FIELD HERE",
"language": "INSERT FIELD HERE",
"owner": "INSERT FIELD HERE",
"attnd": "INSERT FIELD HERE",
"department": "INSERT FIELD HERE"
}
- Make sure you replace "INSERT FIELD HERE" with the field(s) you'd like to use as a value for your new contact in Ratecard, e.g. the MailChimp merge tag from the list you selected earlier, and click "Save + Continue"
- Send a test to Ratecard by clicking on the "Send Test to Ratecard" button, and check if the new contact is added correctly to the group within Ratecard you selected earlier, or click "Skip Test"
- Click on the "Finish" button, and turn your Zap on

Step 2: Build your own form(s) and/or use our proven questionnaires
Now you can decide which question(s) you'd like to ask. Build your own form or use one of our templates, add the language(s) you work in, brand your form with your company logo and colours, and preview and test it to make sure it works as intended.
Step 3: Send real-time and personalised feedback requests per email & SMS
In order to collect feedback on autopilot, you now only need one more thing: an event-based campaign. Make sure you select the group from step 1, and the form from step 2 above in this campaign, and you're now ready to collect feedback on autopilot!
Step 4: Report feedback back into 1,000+ apps via Zapier
Would you like to report the feedback you've collected back into your app? That's also possible, of course! In this Zap we want to make sure your app is 100% up-to-date with the feedback you've received via Ratecard:
- Create a new Zap
- Choose Ratecard from the list
- Select "New Feedback" as your trigger, and click "Save + Continue"
- Connect your Ratecard account with Zapier, select it, and click "Save + Continue"
- Choose the form within Ratecard you'd like to pull feedback from into one of the 1,000+ apps you can connect via Zapier. You can also leave this field blank, if you want to report all your feedback back into your app. Next, click "Save + Continue"
- Test your trigger and make sure it works by pulling in (a) sample feedback item(s)
- Click on "+ Add a step" to add another step, and select "Action/Search"
- Choose an app you'd like to capture your contacts from, e.g. Google Sheets
- Select your trigger, e.g. "Create Spreadsheet Row" that triggers when you've received new feedback via Ratecard, and click "Save + Continue"
- Connect your account, and click "Save + Continue"
- Set up your template to make sure that the feedback is reported in the fields in format as you wish. E.g. for Google Sheets, begin setting up your template by first selecting the spreadsheet and worksheet you'd like to add your new feedback to
- Go on with setting up your template by selecting which feedback fields you'd like to put where within your app. If you didn't select a form, make sure you only use feedback fields that are available in all the forms you use to collect feedback. Also take into account that first name, last name, email address and phone will only be provided by Ratecard if the respondent isn't anonymous. Now finish your template, and click "Save + Continue
- Send a test to Ratecard by clicking on the "Send Test to Your App" button (in this case: Google Sheets), and check if the new feedback is added correctly to the spreadsheet within Google Sheets you selected earlier, or click "Skip Test"
- Click on the "Finish" button, and turn your Zap on
